This was an amazing family session in the downtown Rockford area. We could not have asked for better weather and I could not have asked for a better family to photograph. Throughout the last few years I have done photos for the Walden family and we did some at the studio, the park but this time around Heather wanted to try something a bit different. She loved the idea of brick buildings, more urban setting and Rockford provides all of those plus some amazing murals that have been added the last couple years. Just a stroll down the street provides so many options. The amazing part is that we didn't have to deal with mosquitoes.
We ended up having to reschedule our session from the week before due to festivites in honor of Fred VanVleet coming home to celebrate the Raptors championship. Such an amazing guy and a hometown pride and joy, even though he did put damper in our plans for the session. LOL. Well it worked out for the better, the day of our original session was really hot and humid and the day we rescheduled to turned out to be really beautiful, no humidity. Blessing in disguise.
I want to also say how wonderful Arch Apothecary was. Since our session was in Rockford and Heather was coming from Byron, I had to find somewhere for her and Farrah to get their hair and make up done. Usually I have my girls Connie from As U R studio or Karen from Make Up by Karenxo come to the studio or have clients go to them for make up but this time it made more sense to find somewhere downtown. I have seen Arch Apothecary from being downtown and when they used to be off Spring Creek but have never been. They were so accommodating and even suggested the reschedule due to the festivities. I met Heather and Farrah there while they were getting finished up and I was blown away but the high end feel and amazing space but more so the job the girls did with hair and make up.
The boys met us downtown and we went from there. Well, I don't have to go into how the session went, just take a look at the amazing photos.
