I cannot believe these cuties are almost 1 already. This year has flown by. We started off this theme during their newborn session with both of them laying on the moon you see in the cake photos, we then carried it into their sitter session with each one of them sitting on the moon and now we finished off their 1st year with a cake smash feature the moon.
These 2 were a hoot. As you can imagine, babies at that age are usually on the move and it is hard with 1 but 2 presents a whole new challenge. I had an assistant Mariah and the twins mom and their big sister all helping out to make this session a success. It takes a village, am I right? It was so worth it and all of us covered in cake by the end of it. I love this theme so much. Love how my 2nd set of balloon garland came together even though this one did prove to be a bit more challenging. Both Beckham and Bentlee loved the lemons and were just chewing on them throughout that set and didn't really make faces. I love how this set came about too. I guess it pays off being friends with your clients on FB because their momma posted a picture of the lemon dresses the girls received from grandma. They are from Italy and are the cutest ever. I didn't know if mom planned on bringing them to the session or not but I had to message her to make sure we do some photos with those dresses. The little outfit Beckham is wearing is from my studio closet and went so good with the dresses.
My studio has a great variety of outfits for babies of all ages and even some kids clothes and well as gowns for moms so clients don't really need to bring much with them when they come for the milestone sessions but I do love incorporating meaningful items and special outfits in the photos too.
These 2 loved the cake. They were all about smashing it and eating the frosting and getting messy. I just love a good cake smash because honestly, most times the behind the scenes is not as it seems in the photos. Most babies are not fans of getting dirty or the texture of the frosting but we make it work. These two required no help with the cake part. So much fun. I hope I get to watch them grow over the years and document many more milestones.
