I know I am doing a lot of blog posts today but finally coming off a super busy few weeks and I have time to catch up on blogging and sharing what I have been shooting lately. This spring/summer has been quite different this year. My sessions go in spurts. I will have a full week of sessions for a week or 2 and then nothing for the next. I am glad because it does give me time to meet with my clients, help them choose their products to show off those amazing photos and edit.
The Kellenberger family is one of my loyal return clients that I love seeing each year. Sometimes even a couple times per year. Mom always coordinates the outfits so perfectly without being too matchy. Speaking from experience I think it is easier to dress families with girls than boys. Especially if you want variety. There are tons of cute outfits for boys and men but it becomes a challenge to try to pick something different each time. This momma rocks it though. Not only are they stylish, they are so much fun to work with. Including this last session. Chance is a typical boy that wants to have fun and not necessarily take a ton of pictures and usually he makes me and his parents work smiles and we do a lot of chasing but this year, he gave us lots of smiles and made the session really easy. We did throw in a bit of time on the playground which made for some fun photos and this year, unlike in the past we did more of an urban feel to the rest of the session which worked out great. As from my earlier blogs, you can already figure the mosquitoes are pretty bad this year and keeping out of parks and tall grasses worked out wonderful. We had no mosquitoes. We walked around downtown Belvidere and used the amazing brick buildings and soft light that was created by the buildings diffusing the bright sun.
We headed off to the playground where Chance got a chance to burn some energy and from there we finished the session off with some delicious ice cream from Sips and Sprinkles, the fairly new Ice Cream place in Belvidere. I enjoy taking my family there and since it is down the street from the studio, I have been taking advantage of taking clients there which gives me an opportunity to introduce them to the new place and support local businesses as well as add on to the client gallery with fun photos. Plus the kiddos enjoy it and it gives me brownie points for next time. Check out this fun session.
