Most of you know me for my newborn and maybe family photography but this session was a bit outside of my norm and I loved it. Like truly, loved, loved hanging out with these girls. You see Charisa has been coming to me for the past 2 years for sessions for her and her little guy. I loved watching him grow from a tiny newborn to the latest session a couple months back for his 2 year photos and mommy and me photos. I had the pleasure of meeting Ana during the last session reveal. She came along to help Charisa pick her favorite photos. I really saw the bond those 2 have at that moment. When a girl dreams of having a best friend. This is the relationship she dreams of. They are the perfect pair.
When I announced a few spots for orchard sessions in my VIP group on Facebook, Charisa wanted a session but was not really sure if she would like to do another mommy and me since we just did one recently. She let me know she would love to surprise Ana with a bestie session. I loved the idea and so we met at the orchard on a beautiful Thursday afternoon. When they arrived, Ana still had no clue what was going on until she saw me coming down the path with my camera in tow. She was tired but excited about the idea. We had a great time being silly, sweet and trying to figure out best poses to not look too much like a couple but really show their love for each other as friends. I think we nailed it. I left the session feeling excited and my face was still sore from all the laughing.
I posted one sneak peek for them on FB and instagram but I like to keep the photos private until the clients can see them at the reveal session for the most impact. Well, with busy schedules, the reveal didn't happen for another couple weeks so I know they were really anxious to see the photos. I always put out kleenex on the table during the reveals because it can get emotional. To be honest, I have had moms come near crying watching their babies but when I saw these 2 cry, my eyes watered and the whole experience was just amazing and solidified to me that what I do matters and what photographs mean. I honestly hope that the albums they are getting will be the thing they can always look at when they are feeling down and remember what amazing friendship they have.
I did not think ahead and get wine for the reveal because that would have made it all the better. Honestly, I am never sure if that is a good idea but Ana and Charisa assured me that would have been the perfect choice. Noted for next time girls. Ok, I could keep going on and on but here some of their photos from the session.
